Everyone knows of Etsy these days. I remember years ago when I joined in 2007 it was still a more artsy, undiscovered, undiluted site and some people called it Eatsee. Although the website’s lost a bit of its homespun feel, you can still find some really cool things. Here are some of my picks!

I can’t believe it’s been over a month since my last post! I’ve just been so busy and I’m not really sure if anyone reads these things. But I do know that everyone loves a great deal and I’m holding one tomorrow. Hope it makes up for my lack of blogging. Hehe.

It’s crazy outside. 17″ of snow so far in Central Park, kids have a snow day, the messenger who just picked up a sample for SELF magazine looked like an exhausted icicle and I’m staying in to enjoy daytime TV, homemade BLTs and catch up on random doodads and am feeling generous as usual. Enjoy 30% off everything except sale items and gift sets on my website now through Sunday February 28th!

Has anyone seen the website Shorpy.com? It’s this really neat website that has seriously cool black and white photos from the olden days. There really is something special about a black and white photo, they’re almost more colorful than a colorized one!
Anyway, I don’t know much about photography and all that jazz but I think everyone can appreciate the subjects, compositions, lighting and crispness of these photos and don’t forget some of these photos were taken when you had to stand still for minutes! Crazy.
P.S. Don’t forget to check out the Bathing Girls! section!

Has anyone been watching the Olympics? They’re really quite enjoyable and pretty much fills up my entire TV watching schedule for the two plus weeks it’s on. Unsurprisingly figure skating is one of my favorite sports to watch because it’s the one sport that allows the athlete to not only be technical but also artistic and fashionable.
Since the females haven’t skated yet it’s hard for me to comment on their outfits but the men certainly had some “interesting” costume choices. Like all artists really, I think it’s so important for the costume to add to the performance and not distract from it and frankly some of the outfits were so awful it was hard to look beyond the sequins and appliques. That being said, I think that a simple basic costume is best and ornate or costumey outfits should only be worn to compliment the skaters artistic vision- that the music, facial expressions and outfit all lend into one cohesive theme.
That being said I think that Johnny Weir is in a league of his own. Weir is fabulous simply because he doesn’t care what others think of him, and because of that he can get away with wearing a pink ribbon corset with black patent leather accents and a random tassel on his shoulder. This sort of license for fashion lunacy is something earned not given and has to come from within and Weir oozes this which allows us, the audience, to not look at him as an idiot with poor taste, but as someone who dares to explode with true artistry and do it on ice no less.

Hi Everyone,
I have no idea how to use Wordpress *blush* and honestly the idea of keeping a blog scares me a bit because I’m highly opinionated and my grammar stinks. BUT! I promise to make this blog interesting, informative, beneficial (coupons, exclusive sneak peaks of new pieces) and above all 100% me!
